Hung Vuong Plaza (HVP) is the
largest shopping complex in Ho Chi Minh City. A mixed use retail
and commercial
center with two 30 storey residential towers located in District 5 also known as China Town,
the development sits on a site of 9,600 square meters. It has a
total gross floor area of approximately 93,000 square meters and a project value of
over US$50
million. MegaStar Cineplex's (MSC) flagship cinema complex is located on Level 7, with 8-screens, 1,450-seats on a 3,200 square meter footprint. Its location at the top of retail tenant Parkson Department Store also houses MSC's headquarters on two levels within the cinema. The US$4.0 million state-of-the-art cinema features full stadium seating, wall-to-wall screens in each auditorium, eight-track Dolby Surround Sound and plush high-back reclining seats. The lobby includes a concessions stand, beer bar and cafe. Efficiency, identity and accessibility carry through in the cinema's design approach. A range of interior finishes, lighting effects and colors are used in the lobby and cinema concourse. Video monitors, electronic reader boards and illuminated signage cases are positioned throughout the lobby. Similarly, the mechanical system design was carefully executed keeping in mind operational and maintenance ease, initial install economics and acoustical impact.
